Overview of Da Lat 1200 Golf Course
Da Lat 1200 Golf Course was opened in November 2015. The course surface is planted with two types of grass, the Green area is covered with Bentgrass Aprons, the Fairway area and Rough area are covered with Bermuda 419 grass. This is the third golf course in this highland city.
Da Lat 1200 Golf Course is located 15 minutes by car from Lien Khuong Airport (Da Lat). This golf course is the result of a collaboration between Peter Rousseau and Kyi Hla Han, an 18-hole championship golf course with a total of 73 strokes, the golf course design principle is based on harmony with the surrounding natural environment. The year-round temperature in this highland area is 16 - 26ºC, ideal for outdoor activities and favorable for cultivating fresh vegetables and fruits typical of cold regions.
The playing areas of this mountain golf course are scattered over 2,100 acres interspersed with pine forests and hills with a 450-acre natural enclosed lake in the center of the golf course. The change in elevation between holes requires players to always travel by electric cart. The variety of obstacles such as freshwater streams, sand pits placed in challenging positions, rice fields, lakes, pine trees and other natural obstacles make this sport even more interesting. Local flowers and ornamental plants have been planted near the golf holes, creating unique challenges and beautiful views for the golf course.
The distance from the holes to the ball placement (Fairway and Green areas) is quite long, plus the significant change in elevation between them, forcing golfers to use electric carts, even for professional golfers.
The Green area is covered with Bentgrass Aprons, a type of turf that many golfers in Asia have not yet accessed, so be careful with the speed of the ball rolling on the Green area, which will cause surprise for golfers who are not confident or overconfident.
