Golf Tips

Sometimes people text me asking for information to get started in golf, of course I always answer in great detail and at length with the experience I have gained after 4 years of playing this sport. Today I will write an article to share so that anyone interested can read it and get more information without having to search around, and without being confused like I was before, wasting both time and money. Although this is a golf group, not everyone may be a golfer, so this summary article is still valuable.

  1. What is the purpose of playing golf?

Defining the goal of learning this sport is quite necessary and important because honestly, playing golf is very time-consuming and quite expensive. If you want to learn golf to approach other golfers and then sell, you will be disappointed. Golfers are all very sophisticated and cunning, you will not be able to sell anything to them hehe. If you want to learn and be ready to interact with partners in the form of "knowing how to play", then it is okay. Then you will still have to invest money and time to learn and practice even though you rarely go to the course, this cost is not too big. In case you are very financially well-off and have free time, golf is clearly a great choice. I learn golf because the company has many Korean partners, if I want to talk a lot with them, I have to know how to play and play well to have the opportunity to go to the course together, because I always lack time and money.

  1. How to learn?

  1. What are the costs for initiation?

This part depends on each person's financial ability, but in my opinion, it's not complicated at all. When I first started learning, I just fumbled around to learn without asking anyone. Plus, my wife encouraged me, "If you go out to entertain guests, you have to buy a good club." Then I bought a Titlist set for pros, because I was a beginner and couldn't play well, so I ended up spending money on another Ping set. But actually, on the golf course, no one cares what brand of clubs you use, good or bad, no one cares what brand of clothes you wear, expensive or cheap. Golfers only care about how you play the ball and your style. So any club is fine, any equipment is fine, as long as it suits you. But it has to be golf equipment, because wearing jeans, a short-sleeved shirt and leather shoes on the course is a joke. Basically, the costs you will have to pay the minimum and most economical will be like this:

• Tuition: Minimum 10 million/course. Each lesson pays a minimum of about 200 thousand.

• Clubs: the cheapest set is probably around 20 million, including used clubs. But it's best to buy new ones, why use used ones.

• Clothing: This depends on your budget and taste, probably at least 20 million to spend on: a bag, shoes, wallet, belt, hat, golf ball, tee, umbrella, raincoat for the golf bag and if you can afford it, buy a distance measuring device.

• Cost of going to the field: Each game on the field, the cost of the field and the tip for the accompanying service person (Caddie) is about 3 million, not including the cost of the caddie or food and drink, and transportation (if any). Usually, women will not have to pay for the caddie, but 99% of men will have to pay or get extra from the caddie.

• Playing time: Each golf session on the course takes about 5 hours, the round trip takes another 2 hours, so 7 hours for a round.

• If you don't go to the course often, you can go to the course to practice after finishing your lessons. Each practice session probably costs about 300 thousand, but you can maintain your swing rhythm so you don't forget how to play. Golf, if you don't hold a club for a long time, will return to 0 immediately, unlike driving a car, if you don't drive it for a long time, it will still drive well.

  1. Can you develop relationships from golf clubs?

Yes. There are many Golf Clubs from universities to residential areas, to groups of the same age and interests. You can join any Club to develop relationships. But one thing is for sure, you will have to invest a lot of time to have real relationships (it's still a matter of time). And I also emphasize again, you can only sell after you discuss, but if you join a Club to sell, you won't be able to sell anything hehe.

  1. Benefits from playing golf?

You will be able to roam freely among the vast grass, trees, and flowers. You will be able to express yourself through the ball. You will be able to chat with your friends. You will be able to bet, have fun, but also regret and be disappointed. You will learn a lesson about composure. You will be able to play amateur tournaments where you can be lucky enough to win many big prizes like playing the lottery. Having more friends, having more good relationships and feeling rich to motivate yourself to try harder. Basically, those are the necessary and necessary things for someone who wants to start golf. Actually, the things I shared above are probably few people write like this because golfers are often secretive, they are afraid to talk about golf. Unfortunately, I just say what I know, hope it is useful for those who need it.
