The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also appointed golf legend Greg Norman (Australian) as Vietnam's Tourism Ambassador. The Ambassador has accompanied and supported the General Department of Tourism in creating short films introducing Vietnam's golf tourism, which are very impressive and effective."

Encourage and facilitate promotion

The General Department of Tourism has also coordinated with the Vietnam Golf Association and localities with strong golf tourism to organize professional and grassroots golf tournaments to promote and attract golf tourists.

In addition to the increasing number of golf courses being invested in and put into operation, in recent years, the demand for learning golf and regular golf players has also increased rapidly. The Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards are of great significance in promoting the sustainable development of the golf movement, motivating golfers to demonstrate their talents and developing the golf industry. The latest statistics from R&A and National Golf Foundation show that the number of golfers in Vietnam is about 100,000 people; There are nearly 100 golf courses in Vietnam, of which 32 are 5-star international golf courses.

According to the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), there are currently over 60 million golfers in the world. Golf tourism is the third most popular tourism motivation in the Asia region. Globally, there are about 700 golf tourism companies in 61 countries that are members of IAGTO, each year implementing about 2.5 billion USD in service contracts, serving about 1.9 million golfers.

Vietnam is currently considered an ideal golf paradise in Asia.
