The 2016 Vietnam Amateur Open Golf Championship (VAO) concluded at Sacom Tuyen Lam Golf Course, marking a successful first national golf tournament of the new Executive Board of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA). With Mr. Tran Duy Canh, Deputy Secretary General of VGA, taking on the role of Director, the organization of this year's tournament has made significant progress compared to previous years, and it is hoped that VGA can maintain and further develop this in the coming years. For the first time, the tournament was broadcast live on YouTube (VGA Channel) for all four days of competition, allowing viewers to follow the results and watch the events on the court. This year's tournament also features... the return of foreign golfers from Thailand, Laos, Singapore, the Philippines... and Some players are overseas Vietnamese.

Sacom Tuyen Lam is designed on the hillsides and In most holes, the player must launch the ball from above. The player must judge correctly to choose an accurate direction to avoid "OB", water and sand traps are placed in "perfect" positions to welcome inaccurate shots. Because of these factors, every player will make mistakes, sooner or later. That is... Not to mention, you also need to execute a perfect shot in terms of both distance and direction to get a good position for the next shot! As for the green, thanks to the rain, the green surface is somewhat soft and much slower; if the weather had been dry, the final score of each player would certainly have been increased by 5 to 10 strokes. This assessment is not unfounded. Because right on the green of hole number 1, not a few players were putted 3 or 4 times, even just... A player finished with "3 on and 7 putts!!!" In general, if you get the ball onto the green but not in the right place, 3 or 4 putts is normal!

Certainly, from now on, no player will dare underestimate Sacom Tuyen Lam. Fortunately, the goal after 4 rounds was to determine the player with the fewest strokes, and Ruperto Zaragosa III won the championship. Vietnamese-Australian player Andy Chu won the Professional category. The top 5 of the Vietnamese amateur billiards competition are as follows: Truong Chi Quan, Don Len Gia Dat, Do Duy Hien, Andrew Hung Pham, and Nguyen Phuong Toan. Players will have to wait until next year to conquer new challenges of VGA.
